Download Download Organizer

Everything you need to install it safely: the version, the size, the hash to check the file, and what to expect from Windows.

About the Windows SmartScreen warning

The installer isn't signed with an Authenticode code-signing certificate yet, which is a paid certificate. Because of that, Windows may show a warning the first time you open it. The warning doesn't mean the file has a virus: it means Windows doesn't recognize the publisher yet.

  1. Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”.
  2. Click “More info”.
  3. Check the file name. The publisher shows as “Unknown publisher” because the installer isn't signed. Then click “Run anyway”.

Before that, check the SHA-256 hash. It's how you can be sure the file hasn't been altered.

Automatic updates are different: each one is verified with the project's signature before it installs.

Check the file's integrity

The SHA-256 hash is the installer's fingerprint. If the hash of the file you downloaded matches the one below, it's exactly what was published.

Installation

  1. Download the installer above.
  2. Check the SHA-256 hash.
  3. Open the file. If SmartScreen warns you, follow the steps above.
  4. Follow the installer. It uses your Windows language.
  5. Open Download Organizer and choose the folder you want to organize.

On v0.1.0? Install the new version over it by hand. Automatic updates started with v0.1.1.

Updates

New versions arrive from GitHub Releases and are verified by signature before installing. With the window open, the app asks first. In the system tray, it installs them and opens again. Your history and settings are kept. You can turn this off in Settings and install by hand.

Uninstalling

  1. Open Windows Settings › Apps › Installed apps.
  2. Find Download Organizer, click ⋯ and then Uninstall.

Your organized files are never touched. Settings and history stay in this folder until you delete it:
